Your Team Matters

Here’s five  tactics to win over most of your customers

1 – Take ownership of mistakes and solve them satisfactorily

Lets face it, nobody’s perfect, we all make mistakes.  But when it happens to you, be professional enough to admit it to your customer and take immediate steps to make it right. This can be an opportunity for retention and hence make your customer a fan and not just a Customer.

2 – Look and Anticipate the Needs of Your Customer

Once you think you’re all set to go, think again.  Your customer has their own plans and they usually doesn’t match ours.  Walk through the steps of service, just as if you were a customer.  Find all the areas where there might be a potential problem and address them.

3 – Put Your Focus Where it Belongs

Your focus should be totally on your customer as if no one else exists. This naturally has to delivered by you and your staff alike

They are your first and last thing to worry about, period!

4 – Spend the Extra Money required to cover your areas of service

Don’t think you can improve your bottom line by cutting staff in the hopes to save payroll dollars. That’s what inexperienced managers do.  How can you really expect to service your customers well with less people to do the job? This becomes true in many establishments as they endeavour to cut costs and the staff costs are the easiest to reduce but think of the Cost to your Business with potential loss of the customers who JUST WALK AWAY.

5 – Competiton dictates YOU to be the best

You’re not making enough money and your market share is shrinking.  What are you going to do?  Make a promise to yourself to get better.  Good enough is NOT good enough. Remember every customer you loose your competitor gains.

All this can only be attained provided you have sound systems in place. Your team have to reflect all the passion and values you have for the Business. It can be done and the rewards are far greater than any cost they incur. Having good loyal and hard working staff are worth their weight in gold, but never forget to appreciate them or they will certainly leave and join your competitor.

Successful entrepreneur Richard Branson places a high value on this hence his quote

"If you run a business, put on top your employees, then your consumers, and then your shareholders." Richard Branson
